Abstract
Introduction: Based on the results of Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2018, DKI Jakarta is included in the top 10 highest prevalence of pulmonary TB by province with a percentage of 0.51%. Central Jakarta City has the highest prevalence in DKI Jakarta Province with a percentage of 0.88%. . (Mustika Alamanda; Pangaribuan; Oktiano et al., 2023) Pulmonary TB is a disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis and most often attacks the lungs. According to WHO (2020) in the 2020 Global Tuberculosis Report, tuberculosis in children will cause growth and development disorders, even death (Rizal Wahid et al., 2021). Method: The design of this research is a case study. In this study, nursing care was carried out on patients with the same pulmonary TB problem for three days, with the consent of the patient and the patient's family, emphasizing airway nursing problems by providing inhalation therapy interventions to the patient and then observing, evaluating and documenting. Results and Discussion: Based on the nursing care that has been provided, the administration of 2x2.5 mg Ventolin inhalation therapy is effective in overcoming the problem of ineffective airway clearance. This is supported by the theory that therapy using a nebulizer is an effective and efficient way to deliver drugs in the form of aerosol directly into the respiratory tract and lungs via the mouth, nose or artificial airway (Kristiningrum, 2023). Conclusions and Suggestions: The intervention given to An.M is considered effective in reducing shortness of breath in children with pulmonary TB. And there are suggestions that can be developed further in future research with more patients.
