Abstract

This study aims to examine the urgent reasons for criminalize cosmetics manufacturers who use animal testing, due to the legal vacuum related to the protection of animal testing. The study was conducted Utilizing normative legal research alongside secondary sources acquired from literature. The conclusion of the research is that criminalization of cosmetics manufacturers who use animal testing must be done because of animal abuse in animal testing and animal abuse is prohibited by law. The criminalization of animal testing can be done by adding a new article in the form of a criminal article against cosmetics manufacturers who use animal testing in the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Law or with a new law governing cosmetics.
