Abstract

The Relationship Between Blood Glucose Control and Incidence of Microvascular Complication in Patient of Diabetes Melitus at RSU Kabupaten Tangerang for periode of January 01 2012. Guided by dr. MARLINA DEWIASTUTI, Mkes and dr. ANISAH, MPdKed. Diabetes Melitus is a chronic disease characterized by high blood sugar levels and is accompanied by metabolic syndrome. Diabetes Melitus is also known as the Mother of Disease because it leads other disease such as hypertension, heart and vascular disease, stroke, kidney failure, and blindness is a form of chronic complication of diabetes melitus both microvascular or macrovascular complications. WHO and IDF predicts there will be an increasing number of patient with diabetes melitus in 2030. To prevent the occurence of the complication, is needed an examination that functionate to monitor the blood sugar control, one of which is HbA1c measurement. This study aims to determine the relationship between blood sugar levels and the incidence of microvascular complication at RSU Kabupaten Tangerang period January 01 st – December 31 st 2012. This research is a descriptive analytic with a cross sectional approach. The sample used were 156 and obtained from patient’s medical record who took HbA1c measurement. The research by using statistical application shows that there is a significant relationship between blood sugar control and incidence of microvascular complication in patient of diabetes melitus type II (p=0.000). Based on these results, it is expected that people with diabetes controlling blood sugar levels to prevent microvascular complications, because chronic hyperglycemia is the main cause.
