Abstract

Background : Exercise is very important to maintain and improve physical fitness. Besides being able to improve the quality of life, regular exercise can improve muscle work including respiratory muscles. Proper and regular exercise will improve the efficiency of the respiratory system, such as ventilation, diffusion, and perfusion. This leads to changes in peak expiratory flow. This study aims to see the sporting relationship with peak expiratory flow rate differences. Methods : This is cross-sectional study design. The samples were divided into 2 groups, 36 people in the exercise group and 36 people in the group did not exercise. Then each group measured its value of PEF. Data is described using tables, performed with Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Results : The test of Kolomogorov - Smirnov obtained p = 0.04. Therefore, p < 0.05, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the values of peak expiratory flow with exercise. Conclusions : There is a relationship between the value of sport PEF.
