Abstract
The purpose of this research is to examine the framing of Detik.com and Kompas.com's news framing on the issue of Jakarta sinking using the theory of framing. The used method is descriptive qualitative using primary and secondary data sources originating from observation and documentation. The researcher applied a data analysis technique, namely Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing analysis technique. The final results of the research demonstrate that there are distinct framing used by Detik.com and Kompas.com in reporting the issue of Jakarta sinking. Detik.com utilizes the signs of Jakarta sinking framing, which centers on the stories of Jakarta's coastal residents who are directly affected by this issue. On the other hand, Kompas.com uses the primary framing, which is the response and solution from the government regarding Jakarta sinking. Kompas.com reports information about projects and regulations from the government to prevent Jakarta from sinking. Regardless, despite framing differences, both online media believe that Jakarta sinking is not just an issue, but rather a serious threat. Keywords: Jakarta sinking, framing Detik.com, Kompas.com
