Abstract
The cancellation of Indonesia as the host of the U-20 World Cup by FIFA where this phenomenon has been widely spread through mass media, especially in this case online news portals. In this phenomenon, there is one name that often appears in related news and is known to be one of the causes of Indonesia's cancellation as host of the U-20 World Cup, the name in question is Ganjar Pranowo, Governor of Central Java. In this context, online news portals are one of the most widely used means for people to access information related to an event that has occurred. This research analyzes the online news portals kompas.com and detik.com in framing the news of Ganjar Pranowo when Indonesia canceled hosting the U-20 World Cup. The purpose of this research is to find out how the construction of reality carried out by the two online news portals kompas.com and detik.com, resulting in news with different points of view. This research analyzes online news portals kompas.com and detik.com in conducting a screening of the news of Ganjar Pranowo when Indonesia was cancelled to host the U-20 World Cup. The research was conducted using qualitative methods and using Robert N. Entman's model framing analysis to analyze kompas.com and detik.com reports about Ganjar Pranowo when Indonesia canceled hosting the U-20 World Cup. The result of this research is that there is a difference in the packaging of news between kompas.com and detik.com, where kompas.com has a tendency to raise the positive image of Ganjar Pranowo, while detik.com writes its news objectively and informatively.
