Abstract
Entering the era of society 5.0 which is characterized by the rapid development of information and communication technology has had an impact on almost all human activities, such as politics, economy, social, culture, education, and the business world. The impact of the society 5.0 era has encouraged the government to reform almost all government activities, including village government, one of which is Buah Raya village, Karo district. Buah Raya Village is one of the villages in Kutabuluh sub-district, Karo district, North Sumatra province. Based on the results of interviews with the village head and the village community, currently, Buah Raya village has not optimized information technology as a tool in managing its governance, so that almost all government activities are carried out manually. Considering these conditions, the author is interested in conducting research in Buah Raya village with the title of designing a website-based village information system in Buah Raya village, Karo district using the waterfall method. The research objectives of this study are to produce a village information system that can map the condition and potential of the village, improve the quality of public services, and as a means of planning and monitoring the development of the village area. The benefits are that the village office is more effective, efficient, transparent, and accountable; public services are better; village communities have better access to village information; and village communities can participate more actively in village development.
