Abstract

East Kalimantan Province has a fairly large TPT and is above the national average unemployment rate. High TPT in a region can have a negative impact on a country's economy. The TPT problem in East Kalimantan Province is caused by gross regional domestic product, labor force participation rate, and education level. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of gross regional domestic product, labor force participation rate, and education level on the open unemployment rate in the districts/cities of East Kalimantan Province. The sample used in this research was 10 districts/cities in East Kalimantan Province for 6 years, from 2017-2022. The analytical method used in this research is panel data analysis with the best model, namely the Random Effect Model (REM). The partial research results show that GRDP and TP have a positive and significant effect on TPT, while TPAK does not have a significant effect on TPT. Then simultaneously shows that GRDP, TPAK, and TP influence TPT.
