Abstract
Sustainable development requires conducive economic conditions. Economic fluctuations can occur due to various factors, such as political, social, economic and other factors. Positive economic growth does not always indicate an actual increase in real output. High economic growth will not be optimal if there is still a gap between real output and potential output. This research aims to analyze the influencing factors output gap potential in Indonesia using time series data for the period 1989 – 2021 in a quarterly manner and analytical methods Hodrick Prescott Filter and Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL). The research results show that in the short-term model the variables of government spending growth and interest rates have a significant negative effect on output gap potential, and the inflation and population growth variables have a significant positive effect on output gap potential. In the long-term model, the variables growth in government spending, interest rates and population growth have a significant positive effect on output gap potential. Meanwhile, the inflation variable in the long term has a significant negative effect on output gap potential.
