Abstract

In an economy, bonds can be used as a means of funding in financing; from infrastructure projects to stimulate economic growth, budget deficit financing, to funding in emergencies and economic crises. The government can ‘borrow’ these funds through the issuance of bonds and other securities to the capital market as a means of receiving funds through public debt. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of deposit interest rates, inflation rates, rupiah exchange rate, and gross domestic product on government bonds volume transaction in Indonesia. The object of this study is data of government bond volume transactions in Indonesia in quarterly period from 2014 to 2021. The time series data analysis technique in this study is Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) with Eviews 10 software. This research resulted: (1) Deposit interest rates have significant positive effect on Bond Transaction Volume in long term period, but not in short term period; (2) Inflation rate has significant positive effect on Bond Transaction Volume in long term and short term period; (3) Exchange Rate has significant negative effect on Bond Transaction Volume in long term period, but not in short term; (4) GDP has significant positive effect on Bond Transaction Volume in long term period, but not in short term.
