Abstract

Prostitution is one of the legal problems that occurs and cannot be separated from economic factors in everyday life. Prostitutes are required to fulfill their living needs for those of their families because the income they earn is not much and it is difficult to get decent work. Apart from that, the existence of several inhibiting factors such as low education, unmet biological needs, and the influence of the social environment are also considered to be triggers for them to change professions to become prostitutes. In Indonesia, prohibitions on the practice of prostitution can be seen in several laws and regulations, but in reality these regulations are not felt to be fully effective and are a deterrent to providers of prostitute services, prostitutes, and users of prostitute services themselves. Apart from the criminal act of bribery, now the term gratification is also starting to emerge in public. Apart from involving officials or state administrators, the phrase 'other facilities' contained in the meaning of the Corruption Law is considered to cause unclear understanding for some people. Through this research, the author will examine in more depth related to gratification and the legal protection provided to prostitutes who are involved in criminal acts of sexual gratification. The aim of this research is to find out how efforts to fulfill legal protection are carried out by the government for prostitutes. Regarding research methods, the type of research used by the author is normative juridical, with a statutory approach, and literature study as a data analysis technique.
