Abstract
This study aims to describe the implementation of media convergence by the owner of Love Live! multimedia franchise, which has contributed to its growth. The method utilized is qualitative and descriptive, with primary and secondary data sources analyzed through interviews conducted with key informants via social media channels like Facebook, X (Twitter), and Discord. Researchers employed the four-stage data analysis process outlined by Miles & Huberman, including data collection, reduction, presentation, and withdrawal/verification with data triangulation. The findings indicated that the Love Live! multimedia franchise has a multifaceted and collaborative content creation process, incorporating diverse roles such as producers, directors, writers, animators, voice actors, musicians, and game developers. The multimedia franchise encompasses anime, manga, games, music, and concerts which are interrelated, forming a cohesive narrative. This exemplifies media convergence, combining distinct media and platforms, offering a well-rounded entertainment experience for its followers. Love Live! multimedia franchise fans significantly contribute to its expansion, enhancing the overall consumption experience with unique and active media perspectives. Their roles consist of watching anime, playing video games, listening to music, attending events, taking part in online and offline communities, and producing creative content including fan art, fan fiction, cosplay, and song and dance covers.
