Abstract
Beginning from the researcher's curiosity about the phenomenon in Islamic households, this study aims to exploring the curiosity of transparency and accountability in financial management in Islamic household accounting. The importance of financial management in non-formal organizations such as families will provide different management methods according to the family's experience, knowledge and background. The research method use is a qualitative with a subjective existential phenomenological approach. The results of the study indicate the family who have an accounting background and practitionerstend to apply their accounting knowledge as learned in formal education, however the family who do not have an accounting educational background carry out financial management through spoken language as a form of accounting reporting. In addition, this study also known that transparency and accountability in financial management in Islamic household accounting have been carried out in accordance with Islamic law, hadith and Al-Quran with an investment orientation in the afterlife. The novelty in this study is that the topics raised are based on different Islamic family backgrounds so as to provide answers to subjective curiosity
