Abstract
Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) is a surgical procedure to remove obstructions in the coronary arteries and improve blood circulation. This action is effective in patients with coronary heart disease, because it increases the functional capacity of the heart and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). Various studies have shown that patients with low LVEF before CABG may experience increased LFEV postoperatively. However, research in Indonesia regarding the comparison of preoperative and postoperative LVEF in CHD patients is still insufficient. This study is a retrospective analytical study conducted on patients who underwent CABG at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto from April to December 2023. The aim of this study was to compare the left ejection fraction before and after CABG. Variables recorded consisted of baseline characteristics, risk factors, and echocardiography results before and after surgery. In this study, a total of 59 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria who underwent CABG at Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital from 2019-2022 experienced an increase in LVEF after CABG from 51 to 53.3. The results of the regression analysis showed that the correlation between LVEF and CABG procedure was significant (p<0.05). The CABG procedure can show improvements in LVEF in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD)
