Abstract

Objective: Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM) is a condition where the caryoamniotic membrane ruptures before delivery. KPD is one of the obstetric problems with a prevalence that continues to increase in Indonesia. Therefore, further intervention is needed regarding solutions to control mortality and morbidity to achieve targets or significant reductions, one of which is by recognizing risk factors for PROM, namely infection or inflammation. Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) and Platelets Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) are haematological examination parameters that are easy to carry out and are often used to detect inflammation, so NLR and PLR examinations can potentially be a marker of risk factors for infection in PROM. This study aimed to determine the relationship between levels of infection markers Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) and Platelets Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) with cases of Premature Rupture of Membranes at Pelni Hospital. Method: This research design is analytical and observational with a case-control approach. Sampling used a probability sampling method with consecutive sampling technique with medical record data from 48 pregnant women divided into two groups: 24 pregnant women with PROM as the case group and 24 without PROM as the control group. The sample was then analyzed using the Chi-square test. Result: The results of the bivariate analysis showed a p-value = 0.013 for the relationship between Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) and Premature Rupture of Membranes and a value of p = 0.039 for the relationship between Platelets Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) and Premature Rupture of Membranes. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) and Premature Rupture of Membranes at Pelni Hospital in 2022, and there is a substantial relationship between Platelets Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) and Premature Rupture of Membranes at Pelni Hospital in 2022.
