Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by high blood glucose levels. One of the tests that can be done to measure blood glucose levels is HbA1c. Examination of HbA1c levels can describe the state of glucose in the last 2-3 months. Stem cell therapy is considered the most superior therapy compared to other therapies. Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF) therapy is a therapy option for type 2 DM patients. This study aimed to determine the difference in HbA1c levels before and after SVF therapy in type 2 DM patients at the Hayandra Clinic. Method: This research uses an observational analytical design with cross-sectional or cross-sectional methods in type 2 DM patients who measured HbA1c levels before and after SVF therapy at the Hayandra Clinic according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results : There were 40 patients in this study, with the largest age group being 46-65 years at 81.6% (n=31) and the most significant gender being male at 71.1% (n=27). The average HbA1c level before SVF therapy was 8.2%, while after SVF therapy, it was 7.5%. The paired T-test results show a p-value of 0.002 (p<0.05). Conclusion : There is a difference in HbA1c levels before and after SVF therapy in type 2 DM patients at the Hayandra Clinic in 2022.
