Abstract
Pneumonia in 2020 is included in the top 10 most frequent inpatient diseases in hospitals in various regions in Indonesia. The length of stay that is too long will cause various losses such as swelling treatment costs, and waste of hospital resources. Therefore, effective antibiotic therapy is needed that can reduce the length of hospitalization of patients. Levofloxacin and ceftriaxone are two antibiotics most commonly used for pneumonia therapy. This study aims to compare levofloxacin therapy with ceftriaxone therapy on the length of hospitalization days for community pneumonia patients at Gatot Soebroto Hospital in the 2021-2022 period. This type of study was observational analytics using secondary data comparing the length of stay of two community pneumonia therapies. The components of the data taken were age, sex, main complaints, antibiotic therapy used, and length of hospitalization. The number of samples obtained was 61 patients. The results showed: (1) The average length of hospitalization of patients given levofloxacin therapy was 5.17 days; (2) The average length of stay of patients given ceftriaxone therapy is 6.57 days; (3) There is a significant difference between the administration of levofloxacin and ceftriaxone therapy on the length of hospitalization in community pneumonia patients at Gatot Soebroto Hospital for the period 2021-2022 (p = 0.020).
