Abstract
In October 2022, people in Indonesia were shocked by the drastic increase in cases of Acute Kidney Failure affecting children aged 0-5 years. After an investigation, it was discovered that the cause of the emergence of these cases in Indonesia was the presence of dangerous chemical liquids in the pollutants. syrup type children's medicines. This research aims to analyze the online news portals Tempo.co and Kompas.com in framing the news regarding cases of acute kidney failure in children in Indonesia. The research carried out was research using qualitative methods and using the Robert N Entman model framing analysis method. This research focused on news framing analysis of the handling of the Ministry of Health(Kemenkes) and the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) on cases of Acute Kidney Failure in Children in Indonesia in the period October-November 2022. The results of the research that has been carried out show that there are differences in news packaging between the two media, namely Tempo.co and Kompas.com. Tempo.co in writing news about the case of Acute Kidney Failure in Children in Indonesia has a tendency to use negative sentiment towards the government in packaging the news it writes, this can be seen from the coverage of the news which focuses more on the government's failure in handling this case and the use of sources. who have a negative view of the government in this case. Kompas.com did the opposite, Kompas.com wrote its news using a positive framing that aimed at the government in packaging news regarding the handling of cases of Acute Kidney Failure in Children in Indonesia. This can be seen in the news writing which emphasizes the swiftness of the government's actions and uses sources who were on the government's side during this incident.
