Abstract

The economic potential in fishing the waters of the Kebumen Regency is quite high, but only 8 percent of it is being utilized by the Kebumen community. Efforts are, however, being made to utilize the unused potential of fishing in the Kebumen Regency. One method is to expand the fish catch area, which would require a larger ship. The purpose of this research is to plan a fiberglass fish shipyard that suits the needs and conditions in the Kebumen Regency and calculate the shipyard's income and impact on the economy in the Kebumen Regency. The method used is an approach based on the production capacity of fish shipyards to determine workshops and other facilities. After obtaining study data based on the fiberglass fish shipyard planning journal, the layout will be planned using the software Autocad 2020, and fish shipyard production income will be calculated. The results of this study will determine if this shipyard will later produce ships for fishing. The planned shipyard layout has an area of 3,325 m2 with a size of 87.5 m x 38 m. The investment costs for the development of this shipyard amount to Rp 10,000,000,000 and the annual operating costs amount to Rp 575,000,000 per year with an assumed annual increase of 3.5% due to inflation. A return of investment is projected to happen in year 9, or 2033. The business will be running BEP in year 3, or 2027. An investment in the Kebumen Regency fiberglass fish shipyard is economically beneficial.
