Abstract

PT XYZ is a company engaged in the marketing and distribution of organic products. The organic products offered consist of two categories, namely fresh goods such as organic vegetables and fruits, and product stock, which are products that have a shelf life such as eggs, rice, and others. In running its business, inventory control is carried out based on previous restock estimates, and reorders when 20% of inventory remains. But there is still a mismatch with the actual demand because demand is very volatile. Uncertain product demand can also cause the company to experience overstock. Sales that do not reach the target cause products that have reached the shelf life limit to experience a decrease in quality and must be discarded. This research is related to the inventory control policy for organic products in the product stock category at PT XYZ. The research begins with product classification using ABC and FSN analysis. In inventory control, the Continuous Review System (Q) method is used to determine the number of orders, reorder points, safety stock and total inventory cost of AF class products. The results of product classification obtained 18 products that are in the AF class. Based on inventory calculations on 2 kg Mentik Wangi Rice product sales data, the Q method can be used as a proposed method because it results in lower total inventory costs when compared to the company's method. Calculation of 2 kg Mentik Wangi Rice product inventory for March 2023 - February 2024 using the Q method results in an order quantity (q) of 134 packs, ROP of 85 packs, and SS of 26 packs. So that the total cost of 2 kg Mentik Wangi Rice inventory for a year is IDR 81,886,457.
