Abstract
Adopting a child is an alternative choice for parents that couldn’t have children but want to create a complete family. Adopted child who later has a position as a legal child of the adoptive parents will cause problem related to his rights. Especially if the child is adopted by parents in mixed marriage with foreign elements, due to the difference in nationalities owned by the parents. The foreign elements causes a legal consequence especially in terms of inheritance. Through writing this study, the author aims to find out the rights possessed by adopted children in recovering the assets of their parents and explain the legal protection given to inheritance rights owned by adopted children. In this study, the author uses normative juridicial method with statute approach. Data analysis technique used in this study is qualitative. Novelty produced through this study are the form of inheritance rights obtained by adopted child by the provisions of civil code, especially in mixed marriages. In addition of an explanation regarding legal protection given to adopted child after obtaining the right to inherit.
