Abstract

Cybersecurity cooperation has become a crucial aspect of national and regional security strategies in the era of digital globalization. This study examines the implementation of cybersecurity cooperation between Indonesia and ASEAN through the role of the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (Badan Siber dan Sandi Negara, BSSN) in combating cybercrime in Southeast Asia during the period 2019-2021. This research using security cooperation and cyber security as main theory and concept. The research methodology employed is descriptive-analytical with a qualitative approach, involving policy analysis and case studies of cooperation activities. The main findings indicate that BSSN has played a central role in facilitating coordination and information exchange among ASEAN countries to address cyber threats such as hacking, data theft, and online propaganda that undermine national and regional interests. Internal factors such as human resource capacity, international cooperation, and domestic regulations are critical in determining the effectiveness of cybersecurity policy implementation at the regional level. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the dynamics of cybersecurity cooperation in Southeast Asia and the factors influencing its implementation. The implications drawn from these findings highlight the need for enhanced technical capacity and inter-agency coordination to tackle increasingly complex cybersecurity challenges in the future.
