Abstract
Indonesia occupies the 5th position in the number of people in the world, this causes a high need for nutritious foodstuffs and affordable prices. Beef is one of the high sources of protein for the fulfilment of people's nutrition, but the high demand for beef is not balanced with the ability to produce domestic beef. Knowing this, Indonesia has long made a food self-sufficiency work program on beef commodities but has not been able to be achieved. Australia as the largest beef exporter country in the domestic market provides a donor program to Indonesia that focuses on Indonesia's national interests called the Red Meat & Cattle Partnership which aims to meet domestic needs. This bilateral economic cooperation is believed to be able to overcome the shortage of beef supply in Indonesia. This research will be conducted with the theory of bilateral economic cooperation and viewed with a realist under, an analysis of the behaviour of the two countries towards the results of cooperation carried out for 5 years which has reaped positive results but has not been able to achieve food self-sufficiency in beef commodities in Indonesia.
