Abstract

With the Joint Statement Letter (SKB) of the Four Ministers on Guidelines for the Implementation of Learning in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period, which was signed by the minister of education and culture, the minister of religion, the minister of health and the minister of home affairs (2021). Based on the decree, the schools that were allowed to conduct PTM were limited to 540,000 schools from a total of 471 regions (2021). This study will focus on how influential the Covid-19 information on children on tvOne has on the anxiety of parents in East Jakarta. The theory used in this research is cultivation theory because the researcher tries to measure anxiety and its relation to the effects of television media. The method used in this research is quantitative. The data collection technique used was a survey of 100 respondents, the survey was distributed via google form to parents in East Jakarta. To analyze the research data, the researcher conducted a validity test, reliability test, correlation test, simple linear regression test, coefficient of determination test and hypothesis testing. The results showed that there was a t-count value of 3.045 > t-table 1.664, meaning that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that there was an effect of exposure to information about the high number of Covid-19 cases in children on tvOne on parental anxiety. The results of the coefficient of determination explain that the effect of exposure to information on high cases of Covid-19 in children on parental anxiety in East Jakarta has an effect of 8.65% and the remaining 91.35% can be due to the influence of other factors.
