Abstract

Improper planning can lead to non-fulfillment of drug needs such as resulting in shortages or excess stocks of drugs. One method of planning drug needs is using the consumption method. The purpose of this study was to analyze the planning of drug needs, calculate drug needs using the consumption method and compare drug consumption before and at the beginning of the pandemic at the Cileungsi Health Center Pharmacy Installation. The design of this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection methods by means of in-depth interviews and document review. Data validation was carried out using method triangulation and source triangulation. Informants in this study were determined directly using the purposive sampling method, totaling 3 people consisting of the Head of the Puskesmas, Head of the Pharmacy Installation, and the Person in Charge of the Drug Warehouse/ Pharmacist. The results of the study show that drug planning is not optimal because there are still problems with excess drugs, the majority of the calculation results are minus needs and there is a decrease in visits and drug consumption at the beginning of the pandemic. It is hoped that the Cileungsi Health Center can make Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) according to the planning stages of drug needs in Kepmenkes 1121/MENKES/SK/XII/2008.
