Abstract

Individual characteristics have a significant influence on the performance of nurses in carrying out the practice of implementing patient safety culture. The health team, including nursing, are at risk of making mistakes that result in injury, resulting in unexpected events. This study aims to analyze the effect of nurse characteristics in implementing patient safety goals in the COVID-19 inpatient room at RSPI Bintaro. Target Patient safety, the risk of falling and the risk of infection, found events found. The method used is correlational with a cross sectional approach. The study was conducted on 251 nurses. The results showed that there was a significant effect between the age of the nurse and the patient's safety goals where the p-value <0.05 and the OR significance level of 95% CI. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant effect between the characteristics of nurses on the risk of falling patient safety goals (p value 0.000 ; 95% CI; OR 8.332) and age with risk of infection (p value 0.000; 95% CI OR 8.097). The application of patient safety to the risk of infection and fall risk by more senior nurses is more careful and skilled in handling patients. Senior nurses provide real examples and guide junior nurses in carrying out their duties optimally and do not experience errors in implementing patient safety goals.
