Abstract

Construction is a complex activitiy that has a higher risk of work accidents than other sectors. At the Bintaro Jaya Xchange Phase II project, there are still accidents experienced by workers. Even though it is categorized as a minor accident, if an analysis of the causes is carried out, this accident should be minimized or avoided by compliance with the used of PPE according to regulations. Therefore, this study aim to analyze factors related to compliance with the use of PPE in the Bintaro Jaya Xchange Phase II project workers in 2022. The research method used quantitative analytic with cross-sectional study design. The subjects of this research is all Bintaro Jaya Xchange Phase II project workers under the responsibility of the foreman. The population is unknown so in this study used the Lemeshow formula to determine the sample size and obtained to 102 respondents with purposive sampling sampling technique. Statistical analysis began with univariate analysis and then followed by bivariate analysis using chi square test. The results of the statistical analysis of this study showed that knowledge (p=0.002), supervision (p=0.001), and the availability of PPE (p=0.000) had a relationship with compliance with the use of PPE, while the age variable (p=0.360) and coworkers (p=0,438) found no relationship with compliance with the use of PPE. Therefore, it is recommended for companies to socialize the function of PPE, do monitoring of worker activities consistently, and provide sufficient number of PPE for all workers.
