Abstract
Fever is a condition in which a person's body temperature is above the normal range. Anyone can have a fever and this is the most frequent case which is the main reason parents panic and take their child to the doctor or health service. Fever can be treated with pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods, including aloe vera compress therapy. The purpose of this scientific work is to analyze nursing care using aloe vera compress therapy to treat hyperthermia in toddlers at TK.IR Said Sukanto Hospital. This study compared patients who were given basic nursing care and additional intervention of aloe vera compress therapy with patients who were only given basic nursing care. The instrument used in measuring the patient's body temperature is an axillary digital thermometer and the intervention is carried out for 15-20 minutes according to Standard Operating Procedures. The results showed that the patient's body temperature before the aloe vera compress therapy was 38 oC, while after 10 minutes the therapy was 37.7 oC, and after 20 minutes the therapy was 37.5 oC.. Based on these results, there was a decrease in the patient's body temperature by 0.5 oC. So it can be concluded that aloe vera compress therapy can help to treat hyperthermia in toddlers can be seen from the decrease in body temperature.
