Abstract
Lately, the world is being troubled by COVID-19 which later became a global pandemic. The number of positive confirmed cases and deaths from many countries shows how serious this new disease is. COVID-19 causes difficulties in handling patients infected by this virus. The pandemic forces healthcare workers to work optimally in handling cases so that the transmission does not spread further, achieving paient recovery rates, loss of deaths due to COVID-19 cases. The task demand, limited time, excessive workload and the requirement to provide optimal work results with excellent performance are the reason why mental workload on healthcare workers increasing. In this situation, a significant impact which is felt by healthcare workers is a stressor from their work place so that the healthcare workers experience work stress. This study is written to describe the mental workload and work stress of healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The design of this study is Systematic Review. Literature searches were performed on the Pubmed and Google Scholar databases. From the results of journal review, it was found that the mental workload and work stress of healthcare workers increased and nurses were the most affected. The similiarities in the factors that influence in increasing mental workload and work stress on health workers are : discomfors using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a long time, fear of being a carrier for family and relatives also fear of being infected by COVID-19.
