Abstract

The hydraulic mobile crane adopts hydraulic system in its working system, which is powered by diesel engine. Power is transmitted from the engine to the system hydraulically via a PTO gearbox which operates as a rotary reduction motor so that the rotation is appropriate and optimal for the hydraulic system. This investigation focuses only on the PTO drive gears. The problem with this mobile crane is that the PTO gear provided by the engine for the hydraulic pump does not turn optimally. The aim of this study is to optimize the performance of the crane by redesigning the gears of the PTO gear.Results: The design leads to optimal results when changing the gears in the transmission by increasing the rotation ratio and changing the specifications and materials of the gears. The design manages to increase the efficiency of the engine and the power of the crane. Keywords : Mobile Crane Hydraulic, Gearbox, Power Take Off, Gears
