Abstract

Sorghum is an annual plant that has a high tolerance for drought and does not consume much water during its growth process. Due to the continuous increase in the production of sorghum plants, accumulation occurs due to the excess of sorghum plants in storage warehouses. The purpose of this final project is an effort to increase the production time of pressing sorghum plants and to produce a pneumatic press machine for sorghum plants that is able to press sorghum plants as much as 100kg/hour. This research method begins with the concept design process, manufacturing analysis to tool testing. The machine uses a pneumatic pump cylinder to press the sorghum plant. The pneumatic pump cylinder is driven by a compressor with a pressure of 7 bar. The pneumatic pump cylinder is placed on a bracket that is connected to the engine frame supporting legs which have dimensions of 900x500x2000 mm.
