Abstract

The process of ship maintenance and repair is an activity that is very important for ships to sail. In the process of docking the ship at the graving dock, the water in the dock pool will be drained using a pump and fill the door by opening the installed valve. Facilities at a dock will greatly affect the docking process time of the ship. In writing this thesis, the author will carry out a modification analysis of the acceleration of the time of water flow through the pipe at the dock door and an analysis of the capacity of the dock pump located at PT DKB Cirebon. The docking process of PT DKB Cirebon's directorate takes time in the process of filling and discharging water in the graving dock pond. The results obtained in writing this thesis show that the fastest time to accelerate the entry of water flow is obtained by changing the pipe diameter and the number of pipes at the dock door. By using 4 pipes and a diameter of 28 inches, the time for filling water is 3 hours 38 minutes. Then from the results of the analysis of the water discharge pump system to achieve the target of 4 hours of water discharge time, a new design pump with a capacity of 1000 m3/hour was obtained for each pump in removing water from the graving dock so that the acceleration of the docking process was achieved.
