Abstract
Diabetes is a chronic disease that causes a decrease in insulin production from the levels needed by the body. The high rate of diabetes Mellitus (dm) in Indonesia makes dm a matter of concern. This is reinforced by data that Indonesia ranks fifth as a country with the highest DM prevalence rate in the world. Various kinds of therapy to cure diabetes have been found, but in cases of chronic diabetes and complications need special treatment such as adjuvant hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, also known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), has shown a significant effect on reducing HbA1C levels in diabetic patients. There are still not many studies that discuss gender on HbA1C levels in patients with hyperbaric oxygen. According to previous studies, the number of therapy sessions on hyperbaric oxygen therapy gave a significant association. This study aims to determine the relationship between gender and the number of adjuvant hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions on HbA1C levels in non insulin diabetes mellitus patients at RSAL DR.Mintohardjo in 2016-2019. The sample of this study was non insulin diabetes mellitus patients who underwent hyperbaric adjuvant therapy at RSAL DR.Mintohardjo 2016-2019. This study used an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional study approach using medical records. The total sample size was 43 patient medical records. This study proved that there was a significant relationship (p = 0.001) between the number of therapy sessions and HbA1C levels and there was no significant relationship between gender and HbA1C levels (p = 0.255) in diabetes mellitus patients at RSAL DR.Mintohardjo
