Abstract

Indonesia has a variety of various kinds of wealth including plants which are medicinal plants. One of the medicinal plants that is often used by the community is papaya leaves (Carica papaya L). Papaya leaves are often used by the community to relieve pain during menstruation. Papaya leaf content as an active compound that has analgesic activity, namely flavonoids. This study aims to determine the analgetic effect of papaya leaves (Carica papaya L) on pain stimulation in the soles of the feet of male white mice DDY strain that are heat induced by the Hot Plate method. Papaya leaves are macerated using 70% ethanol. The treatment group consisted of 3 dose variant groups namely 9 mg/kg body weight, 18 mg/kg body weight, and 36 mg / kg body weight, the negative control group was 1% Na CMC and positive control was in the form of aspirin, and each group consisted of 5 mice. One wayANOVA test results obtained a value of P = 0,000, and the results of the Post Hoc Test obtained a value of P <0.05 between the dose variance group and the positive control group. The conclusion of this study is that the ethanol extract of papaya leaves has an analgesic effect on pain in the feet of mice induced heat by the Hot Plate method. Keywords: Ethanol extract of papaya leaves (Carica papaya L), Analgesic, Hot Plate.
