Abstract

It is estimated that CHD represents 2,2% of the overall global disease burden and 32,7% of cardiovascular disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with coronary heart disease in patients at Pasar Rebo Hospital in 2020. This quantitative observational study used a case control study design. The sampling technique used simple random sampling. The sample was 96 people which were divided into 48 cases and 48 controls. The study was carried out in June 2021. The source of this study data is secondary data in the form of medical records. The results of the chi square test showed that the factors associated with the incidence of CHD in patients were sex (OR= 2,553; 95%CI= 1,120-5,820) and diabetes mellitus (OR= 0,274; 95%CI= 0,118-0,637). Based on the results of multivariate analysis, the most influential factor with the incidence of CHD was hypertension (Adjusted OR = 3,432; 95%CI = 1,191-9,886) after being controlled by variables of age, sex, smoking, and diabetes mellitus. Recommended for patients with hypertension to routinely control blood pressure and perform heart health checks in order to reduce the risk of developing CHD.
