Abstract

The Syrian conflict is the most complex conflict that is still ongoing in the Middle East region. This conflict stems from public protests against the regime of Bashar Al-Assad. This action was inspired by the emergence and spread of the Arab Spring movement in the Middle East. This protest was then responded with violence by the government military apparatus, causing an escalation of conflict between the demonstrators and the Assad regime. The escalation of this conflict continues until now and has caused many casualties so that the international community demands an immediate resolution. The United Nations is one of the actors of the international community whose mission is to achieve international peace and security. The United Nations through the Security Council has made efforts to bring about peace in Syria. This effort is carried out through the issuance of Security Council resolutions. This article tries to explain and analyze the form of the Security Council's efforts in realizing peace in Syria by focusing on the 2015-2019 period.
