Abstract

Background : Psoriasis is a chronic condition and needs long term therapy, increase in understanding of psoriasis pathophysiology, especially the role of the immune system cause the rise of new treatment that grows rapidly in the last 20 years, this treatment is called biologic agent. Aim : This study aims to determine the effectiveness of biologic agent on psoriasis treatment. Method : Systematic Review using PRISMA-P procedure. Using literature published between 2016-2021 on Pubmed and EBSCo database using English or Indonesian Language. JBI Critical Appraisal tools are used to evaluate the quality of the literature. Results : Obtain 15 literature that uses TNF- α inhibitor (26,8%), IL-23 inhibitor (60,3%) and IL-17 inhibitor (26,8%), 87,1% of the literature uses placebo for control group, biologic agent is more effective at reaching PASI 75 response compared to placebo in 67% of the literature and more effective at reaching PASI 90 compared to the placebo in 60,3% of the literature Conclusion : Biologic agents are effective for psoriasis treatment.
