Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is defined as a kidney damage with decrease in Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) of less than 60 ml/menit/1,73 m2 that occurs for more than three months. The decrease of kidney function can cause production of erythropoietin hormone which has a function to produce blood cell is reduced so it can lead a decrease of hemoglobin levels. In addition, kidney damage can cause a decrease of vitamin D activation that can lead absorption of calcium in the intestines is reduced. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between GFR with hemoglobin level and calcium level in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. This study uses a cross sectional design with retrospective approach using medical records of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis from January to December 2020. This study done at 95 samples with consecutive sampling methods. Pearson correlation test showed a p value of 0.000 and an r value of 0.974 for the correlation between GFR and hemoglobin level. Also the test showed p value of 0.000 and an r value of 0.950 for the correlation between GFR and calcium level. In conclusion, there was a significant relationship between GFR with hemoglobin level and calcium level.
