Abstract

The presence of Covid-19 has spread to almost all countries as a disease outbreak or pandemic bringing huge losses. At that time, the inability to carry out the agreed achievements made the parties review the force majeure clause in the contract. The absence of regulations in Indonesia that specifically regulate force majeure makes force majeure on Covid-19 have different responses from various parties. This journal aims to analyze the Covid-19 pandemic as a reason for force majeure in Indonesia's oil and gas cooperation contracts. Covid-19 cannot automatically be used as an excuse for force majeure. The consequences and responsibilities that arise afterwards must be taken into account because the oil and gas sector are high risk, high cost & high technology.
